Around Notre-Dame-des-Vertus
At the heart of the old town, Notre-Dame-des-Vertus is a 15th-century Gothic gem, long a Marian pilgrimage site north of Paris. Its paved square makes a peaceful meeting point, a few steps from the town hall and Rue du Moutier. Nearby, the Centre market, one of the largest in Île-de-France, bustles three mornings a week: fruit, fish, spices, fabrics. Perfect atmosphere for a first drink together.
Stalingrad Park and the fort
South of the town, Stalingrad Park unfolds lawns, children’s games and a wide pond set in front of the Solomon hall. The people of Aubervilliers meet here for picnics as soon as the sun returns. A little further, the Fort d’Aubervilliers, a 19th-century military work, now hosts municipal greenhouses, circus residencies and a future urban park project. A curious walk to talk about the future together.
Along the Saint-Denis canal
On the town’s edge, the banks of the Saint-Denis canal have been refurbished: cycle path, barge cafés, artistic venues such as Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers. You can walk down to the Bassin de la Villette or head out towards Seine-Saint-Denis. On Lyad, people from Aubervilliers share their favourite spots; it is up to you to find someone to walk the waterside with.
